Rajkot: A businessman who deals with herbal products in Rajkot City allegedly threatened by a moneylender who lives in Bhavnagar from whom he has borrowed Rs 9 lakh since July 2015.
The businessman Yagnesh Rathod filed a complaint of extortion and police intimidation Natvarshadinh at Pradhyumannh police in Pradhyumannagar station Monday night.
On Tuesday, the police arrested Gohil based on Rathod complaints.
Rathod told the police in his complaint that he had borrowed Rs 4 lakh from Gohil in July 2015 and paid the interests of Rs 16,000 every month.
Then when he needed money, he returned to borrow Rs 5 Lakh.
Since then, Rathod paid for a total monthly interest of Rs 33,000.
When Rathod could not pay for money, Gohil began to threaten him and asked him to pay him Rs 12 lakh.
Regarding the loan amount of Rs 9 Lakh, Rathod, to Kuncian, has paid Rs 19 Lakh.
The police said that Gohil used to threaten Rathod by saying that he would kill his parents if he won’t pay the money.
On October 17, Gohil went to Rathod’s house in Sadhu Vaswani Road and threatened again.
Worried Gohil will carry out the threat, Rathod approached the police and filed a complaint.
