Thiruvananthapuram: Thiruvallam Police on Wednesday arrested a desired man in connection with the armed robbery faced by a rickshaw driver of the car and his brother at Punchakkari for a week ago.
The police identified the defendant as Deepu, 39, a resident of Punchakkari.
The incident related to Crime occurred on September 12.
The complainant, a car rickshaw driver who lives in Nemom, has reached Punchakkari with his sister to buy a dog there.
However, they were attacked by Deepu and his accomplice.
Both were accused of winning the gold chain worn by the complainant before escaping from the scene.
Deepu, who went into hiding after the incident, was tracked and arrested by the team consisting of assistant fortress Commissioner S Shaji, official officer Thiruvallam Inspector Suresh V Nair and Bipin Prakash Sub Inspector and Vaisakh produced in front of the court detention.
The probe is still alive to catch Deepu’s feet who fled.
The minority panel brings Suo Motu Case: Kerala State Minority Commission on Wednesday enrolled a case of Suo Motu after an incident where a man allegedly attacked by the police.
An official with Poovar Station was placed under a suspension in connection with the incident on Tuesday.
Chairman of the Minority Commission P K Haneefa searched for a report from the rural police chief about the incident.
Haneeee said further action will be taken after receiving the report.
According to the police authority, the suspension of the Poovar Sub-Inspector’s suspension was issued based on a report submitted by a special branch (rural district) on charges of torture of Custodian Sudheer Khan.
