Williamnagar: A 45-year-old man died in Williamnagar and another sustainable injury after a motorcycle carrying them to collide frontal with a vehicle at the convoy of Minister of Home Meghalaya Lahkmen Rymbui, a senior police officer said on Friday.
Rymbui was on his way to attend a high-level meeting about the legal and order situation when a motorcycle, which came from the opposite direction, crashed into one of the convoy vehicles around 1:30 on Thursday at the National Highway-44 near the cheer, the officer said.
Motorcyclists were killed in place and one riding the wounds suffered, he said.
Car escorts involved in the accident belonging to Garo Executive Legal district of East Hills (DEF), officers stated.
A case has been registered with this incident.
“We provide assistance to the victim’s family.
The action, if there is, will be taken after the investigation.
The injured victim was undergoing treatment at Williamnagar’s civil hospital,” said East Garo Hills Inspector Bruno Police A Sangma.
