Hundreds of Heart Nandi Maha Abhisheka Stop Chamundi Hills

MySuru: Hundreds of worshipers from various places watched Mahabhisheka colorful from the statue of Nandi (Bull) atop Bukit Chamundi on Sunday.
Mahabhisheka was carried out by members of Bettada Balaga Charable Trust, who had conducted an event for almost two decades.
Betta Balaga volunteer, which is a group of pedestrians and jogging that often visits Bukit Chamundi, organizes Mahabhisheka for the statue of the 350 years during Karthika Period.
This is the sixteenth year of the group has arranged an annual event.
Because Covid-19, the event remains simple but traditional.
Even the scaffold was not established around the statue.
Sri Adhichichanagiri Mahasamssthana Mutt Mysuru Seer Somanatha Swami and Hosamata Seer Chidananda Swami featured Puja specifically as part of Mahabhisheka.
Monolithic statues are cleaned and imam anointing statues with 38 different materials such as water, milk, curd, lemon juice, sugar cane juice, soft coconut water, sandalwood paste, wine, kumkum, turmeric, ghee, red sander, various dal flour, dried fruit, fruit -buahan, Ashtagandha and coins.
The statue, the third largest Nandi statue in this country, is believed to have been installed by the ruler of MySuru Dodda Devaraja Wadiyar in the 17th century.
Statue as high as 15 feet and a width of 20 feet and has been carved from one stone.
The statue was installed near 700 steps 1008 which led to the top.
Speaking on that occasion, Secretary of Bettada Balgaga N Govind said the organization had done Abhhisheka to the statue from 2006.
“Like 2020, this year we have done a simple way because of Covid.
We plan to hold a next year’s event with a magnificent way.
Through this program, we pray to God to bless the world peacefully and love, ending Pandemec Covid and stopping flooding.
“Govinda said Abhisheka was done with 38 ingredients and then Jalabhisheka and Rudrabhisheka appeared.
Volunteer Balaga distributed prasada for worshipers present at the event.
