Patna: 25-year-old young man was scored by a horde for allegedly trying to steal a battery from a tractor in Gangti Village under the Pakribarawan police station in Nawada District on Thursday.
At least 10 people were arrested from the village until Thursday night because of their alleged involvement in Lynching.
Police said the victim was identified as Mohammad Anjan Imran, a resident of the nearby Sudanpur Village.
The incident occurred around 2am.
The police saved Imran from the grip of the villagers and rushed to a government hospital in Pakribarawan where he died during treatment.
Pakriboarding SDPO Mukesh Kumar said the attack was to capture more people involved in evil.
Sho from the Police Station Pakhibibakan Nagmani Bhaskar said the initial investigation revealed that Imran went to the neighboring village with the intentions of theft.
“When he stole a battery from the tractor, the village residents got up and raised the alarm.
Imran was then arrested by the villagers and struggling without mercy,” he said.
“A team rushed to the village after getting information and freeing young people.
He rushed to the hospital, where he died during treatment,” he said, adding to the body of the victim to be handed over to his family members after postmortem.
