Melbourne: Australia Captain Test Pat Cummins feels the cricket board of his country is doing the right thing by evaluating coach’s head performance Justin Langer before deciding his contract extension as a player also through the same process periodically.
Langer, under the supervision of Australia hammered England in Abu and also won the T20 World Cup for the first time last year, has been operating over the past four years.
The Australian Cricket will consider contract extensions for him on Friday.
Cummins insisted that he enjoyed working with Langer but it was only “fair” that the coach passed the “evaluation process”.
“There is in the hands of Cricket Australia,” Cummins said as quoted by ‘Sydney Morning Herald’.
Cummins said speculation about Langer’s work was not healthy and he did not want to add it.
“Jl has done a fantastic job, he has been there for four years, his contract is clear immediately, they are only through the current evaluation process, which in my opinion are fair, the right thing to do.” We all get evaluated all the time as Cricketers.
It’s part of a high-performance environment.
The process occurs, it is a decision for Australian cricket and we have to wait.
“It’s a cricket Australia job, it’s not my job.
I really liked my time working with Jl,” Cummins said.
While a former team-mate like Matthew Hayden, Shane Warnne and Adam Gilchrist have supported the extension of Langer’s contract, there have been media speculation about hatred of them among players today, even though no one openly criticizes the coach.
