New Delhi: Commercial pilots that may have been retired or cannot operate flights because some medical conditions can now practice for flying drones.
State Run Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Academy (Igrua) and its Drone Training Partner, Drone Destination (DD), on Friday together signed the MoU with the Indian pilot Federation (FIP) to collaborate in drone training.
“Flights are industries and drones that are growing rapidly will play a key role in the coming decades.
Wing plane pilots remain naturally suitable for drone operations because they understand operational requirements well and have talent to operate aircraft.

Director of Igrua Krishnendu Gupta said: “Happy to collaborate with the biggest pilot federation in India.
We hope our collaboration with FIP allows the growth of the drone industry with highly skilled flight professionals who join this sector.” The collaboration of training this drone was initiated by the FIP Management Committee.
Led by the captain of the Subhashish Majumdar VP which is also an alumnus of Igrua.
Captain Secretary FIP C S Randhawa signed the MoU on behalf of the Indian pilot federation.
Igrua has partnered with Delhi-based drone purpose to provide drone training throughout India and both of them have so far started school in Manesar (Haryana) and Bengaluru.
CEO Drone The goal of Chirag Sharma recently told TOI more pilot drone training schools will appear in places such as Mumbai, Chennai, Bhopal, Kolkata and Pune.
School drones can train around 300 pilots every year.
The cost for multi-rotor drone training is Rs 55,000 (plus tax) and a six-day duration course.
Training for larger remaining wing drones and hybrid drones (take off vertical and landing) can cost up to RS 1.25 lakh, said Gupta recently.
