IISC to start medical school, get a donation of RS 425 Crore for hospitals

Bhubaneswar: Indian Science Institute (IISC) will establish a graduate medical school together with a multi-specialty hospital on the Bengaluru campus.
Mindtree Cofounders, Subroto Bagchi (which is Odisha’s original) and NS Parthasarathy and their wives have made the largest single donation from Rs 425 Crore to the Premier Institute to help build a special 800 Bedmulti Hospital, which will be known as Bagchi – Hospital Parthasarathy, said The Institute’s statement.
Founded in 1909, the Premier Institute for research and advanced education, with the same emphasis on science and engineering, will establish medical schools in line with global examples of integrating science, engineering and medicine under one academic institution from this initiative will be a program Dual integrated MD-PhD aimed at creating new types of scientists, who will pursue careers in clinical research to develop new care and health care solutions, driven by the Bench-to-Bedside philosophy, he said.
They will be trained simultaneously in hospitals and in science laboratories and techniques at IISC.
The key enabler of this effort will become a non-profit multi-specialty hospital, 800 beds, serving clinical training and research activities from academic programs.
To build a hospital building, which was designed by the Ahmedabad-based Archi Medes (I) consultant, IISC, Monday signed a Pathbreaking partnership with the Dermawan Susmita and Subroto Bagchi, who came from Odisha, and Radha and NS Parthasarathy.
The pair will collectively donate Rs 425 Crore.
Govindan Rangarajan, Director, Indian Science Institute was quoted as saying, “We are very grateful to Susmita and Subroto Bagchi, and Radha and NS Parthasarathy for their cheap movement.
Their generous contributions will help us realize our vision of an indefinite clutch between clinical science, Basic science, and engineering discipline, all docked in a vibrant university campus, enables training training and cross-disciplinary research for young thoughts.
We hope this to create new templates for institutional development in India, especially in medical research.
“Susmita said in a country Like India, medical research and shipping cannot be submitted to the government or the corporate sector.
“Time has come for more people like us to get involved.
With IISC, we find a shared vision.
This is an institution with depth, competence, leadership, and capacity to be delivered on a scale.
We are very sure of eternal and useful results from our donations , “he said.
Bagchi-Parthasarathy Hospital will be built on the existing Bengaluru IISC campus, taking full advantage of the location along with the Faculty of Science and Engineering and Laboratory.
Land breakdown is planned for June 2022 and the hospital will operate at the end of 2024.
