Hyderabad: Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT-H), launched a Covid-19 tracking portal on Friday which will provide consolidated data on not only Covid-19 cases and vaccinations throughout the country, but also predicted to progress pandemic.
IIT-H ratified the team to develop a platform (www.covid19tracker.in) which will provide daily updates on Covid-19 cases, vaccination and tests for each country.
While stating that the data source was carried out mainly from the state bulletin, the official social handle and government website (www.cowin.gov.in and www.mohfw.gov.in), Prof.
Bheeemajuna Tamma, chair, computer center in Iit-H, said , “The website has been hosted on the public cloud platform to make it very scalable and responsive even when web traffic shoots”.
He added that “the website has served more than 18 million requests from a quarter of a million visitors for the last 30 days”.
This website also has special features that use models developed mathematically to predict the progress of pandemic.
It will also provide predictions and recommendations about Omicron.
“At present, we have surpassed the original website by entering predictions for future pandemic courses, which are produced by the IIT-H silk consortium are members.
Recently, we have included projections for post-omicron scenarios too.
In times Home, we plan to improve the website by entering the search feature to highlight trends and improve warnings such as and when needed, “said Prof.
M Vidyasagar, professor in IIT-H.
He further added that if resources allow, they will monitor not only India but other countries too.
