Bhubaneswar: The Meteorology Department of India (IMD) on Saturday was warned for a typhoon to come in Bay Bay which could make landing between South Odisha coast and Andhra Pradesh on Sunday night.
Director General of General Mrutyunjaya Mohapatra said the Hurricane Cyclone could trigger wind speeds of up to 90 km per hour and caused heavy rain at Andhra Pradesh North and South Odisha.
Bulletin IMD said depression increased into depth depression in the northeast and adjaced to the bay of Eastentral Bengal and moved to the west at a speed of 12kmph in the last 6 hours and intensified into deep depression.
At 5:30 a.m., it was immersed in the north and side by side of Eastcentral Bengal Bay near, about 510km east-southeast Gopalpur (Odisha) and 590km northeast Kalingapapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).
IMD said the possibility would increase into a storm of a cyclone for the next 12 hours.
It is likely to move almost to the west and cross the North Andhra Pradesh – South Odisha Beach between Vishakhapatnam and Gopalpur around Kalingapatnam on Sunday night.
