New Delhi: To overcome the difficulties faced by students related to ‘equality certificates’ issued by their secondary secondary / senior council for the purpose of acceptance at higher education institutions and also for employment, the Ministry of Education has now entrusted the Association of the University of India (AIU) for Prepare standard operating procedures (SOP) for this.
At present, there is no formal mechanism to determine the “equality” score obtained by students from different educational boards.
SOP will ensure that “the Petitioner’s school education council follows the RIs Education Act (RTE), the existing national curriculum framework (NCF), and is a national education education policy and that teachers in schools affiliated with qualifications are placed by the National Council for teacher education (NCTE) “.
Equality will be given based on the fulfillment of SOP.
AIU has formed a 10 member committee consisting of representatives from UGC, Aicte, NCERT, CBSE and NIOS, among others.

Secretary AIU General Pankaj Mittal said, “There are times when registration in the institution or work, the institution is not sure whether this is a valid board, or whether the certificate incurred has equality with another board.
Until now, we (AIU) have done equality of foreign boards Like the International Baccalaureate or Cambridge International with Indian boards.
For the Indian Council, there are informal arrangements with COBSE (School Education Board of School in India).

Ashok Ganguly, the former CBSE chairman said there was a broad difference with respect to curriculum design, transaction and evaluation.
“There must be some kind of uniformity so students move from one board to another or move vertically for the acceptance of the university,” Ganguly said.

The first meeting of the committee will be held on December 27, 2021.
