New Delhi: QR Code Proof Tamper will soon be made mandatory for all high-pressure cylinders and cryogenic containers used to store and transport medical oxygen for their quick identification and mobilization.
This will help the government to get details about how many of these are filled and about their location too.
The Industrial Department (DPIIT) has issued a notification concept to make this provision mandatory.
It has proposed to change the gas cylinder rule by entering provisions, which says, “all high-pressure cylinders and cryogenic containers used to fill gas and non-toxic fluids and not flammable must have permanent and tamper proofs in the form of QR code in place The striking cylinder.
“The rules define the” cryogenic container “as a double isolated metal container which has a volume exceeding 500 ml but does not exceed 1000 liters intended for charging, storage, and transportation of cryogenic fluids.
Industrial sources welcome moving.
They say the government must come out with a uniform QR code that can be read using a handheld device or with a cellular application.
This will help track the location and status of the container and the cylinder.
“The QR code can save status including whether the container or cylinder is filled or blank.
This is a good step to improve the tracking of the oxygen delivery mechanism,” said one of them.
Other industry sources say there is also the need to mark or connect liquid oxygen tankers and other storage facilities at the hospital to the center database for real-time monitoring at the Pan-India level.
“The aim must integrate the entire supply chain and also storage facilities so you can take the steps needed to meet any requirements quickly,” he added.
The Singh of Iftrt, Delhi-based think tanks on the problem of transportation, said the recent experience during the second wave Covid explained how various types of industrial cylinders and eroded were made as oxygen cylinders to deceive poor patients.
“Therefore, the QR code must have detailed Proof of Temper, the use and type of gas that is allowed to be filled in the cylinder.
This is the most appropriate step at this hour,” he added.
