New Delhi: Durability of Post Covid-19 Immunity Infection or Vaccination After at least around nine months, Director General of the Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR) Balram Bhargava said quoting scientific evidence from several global studies and India.
Some studies also show a strong response installed through hybrid immunity developed in those who are vaccinated after recovery from natural infection, Bhargava says it underlines that vaccination must be for better protection even for those who suffer from disease.
Emphasizing the need to wear a mask, avoid collecting mass and follow the Covid-19 protocol even after vaccination, he said the recipient of the vaccine was vulnerable because of the dynamics of intense transmission as seen in the omicron case.
“Three omicron transmission or four times more than the Delta variant.
In the case of prudential doses, we must remember one important point – all covid vaccines are discovering diseases and they do not prevent infection,” Bhargava said.
“If you have infections and vaccinations, your immune response is more than just an infection or vaccination.
So what’s important is that vaccination is very important,” Bhargava said.
“There were three studies, two of the ICMR and one from Mumbai, in 284 patients, in 755 patients and 244 immunity continued up to eight months, each month and six months (respectively) and this was all published from the infection occurred on 2020, 2021, “he said.
