Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan asked the international community to engage with the Taliban whose foreign assets were frozen.
The Government of Ashraf Ghani-LED in Afghanistan was overthrown in mid-August this year, and since then, the country faces a severe financial crisis, with their foreign assets frozen, according to Geo TV.
Previously, Imran Khan said that the humanitarian organization who wants to work from Pakistan to support efforts in Afghanistan must be facilitated and that Islamabad has committed to become air bridges and land for humanitarian support to Kabul.
However, despite Imran Khan’s appeal, the latest report from the United Nations Office for the coordination of humanitarian affairs in Afghanistan showed concerns about “conditional humanity” or efforts to “use” humanitarian aid for political purposes that imply Pakistani motives.
Furthermore, on December 19, Pakistan hosted an extraordinary session from the organization of the Islamic Minister (OIC) in Islamabad and Afghanistan issues would be discussed in detail.
