Bengaluru: Only two ninth grade students in Dakshina Kannada tested positively between August 23 and September 30 under Arogya Nandana, an initiative to test all children for Covid-19 in Karnataka, making it one of the better districts in maintaining infections outside the campus .

Ashok H, Nodal Officer for Covid-19, Dakshina Kannada said health workers tested a total of 1,686 students between PU class six and II during the period.
He said the heads of all educational institutions were told to test students with symptoms and regulate the isolation room.
Samples 24 students from sixth grade, 18 from seventh grade, 70 of the eighth grade, 386 of grade 9, 640 of grade 10, 306 of I PU and 242 of PUC tested.
Dr Ashok said in all states, 106 children were tested positively during the period.
