Inauguration of Munger Bridge Postponed: Gadkari

Patna / Begusarai: Minister of Transportation Road Union and Minister of Nitin Gadkari on Thursday announced that the work on the path of Munger Rail-Cum-Road Bridge was completed and it would soon be dedicated to the nation.
The minister expressed happiness for the settlement of the bridge over Ganga ahead of the birthday of the birth of the former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Saturday.
The Minister of Development of Jalan Nitin Nabin on Friday said January 16 has been designated as a new date of the inauguration of the bridge.
Incidentally, the bridge should be inaugurated on Saturday.
Even the invitation card was printed for the inaugural event to mark the alert of the birth of the former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who had put the foundation for this project in 2002.
However, Gadkari tweeted on Friday that the inauguration of the bridge was postponed for reasons that were unavoidable .
.
“The sophisticated bridge will be dedicated to the nation,” he tweeted.
“Bridge 3.8 km from Ganga has been built with RS 2.776 crore expenditure.
The 14.5km approach has been built at the cost of Rs 696 Crore.
The bridge has been crowned Shrikrishna Setu for the memory of Freedom Fighter and the Head of First Minister of Bihar Shri Krishna Sinha,” Gadkari said in A video message.
Meanwhile, the Minister of State Construction Department (RCD) Nabin associated the delay in the inauguration of the bridge to the unprofitable month of ‘Kharmas’.
“People generally consider unprofitable ‘Kharmas’ to start important work,” Minister said, adding several parts of the path of the approach was also required to give a final touch.
Nabin and Pratyaya Amrit, additional head secretary (road construction) have visited the site in the Munger district a few days ago to ensure that all construction work is complete so the bridge can be inaugurated on Saturday.
However, it kicked the political controversy when the Union and MP ministers began with the name Giriraj Singh missing from the list of officials invited to refer to that occasion.
In fact, one end of the bridge and the whole stretch of road approach fell under the Begal District.
Deny it as a big problem, said Minister of RCD, “the name Giriraj was excluded only because of some confusion when the officials concerned were not aware of the fact that the bridge and road approach also fell in the district Begusarai.
It has nothing to do with the postponement of the event.”
