New Delhi: The fifth edition of the Indian-Japanese maritime bilateral practice (Jimex) will be carried out in the Arab Sea from October 6-8.
JIMEX-21 aims to develop a joint understanding of operational procedures and improve inter-operations through the behavior of many advanced exercises, throughout the spectrum of maritime operations.
Multi-faceted tactical exercises involving weapons dismissal, cross-deck helicopter operations and complex words, anti-submarine and training of air warfare will consolidate coordination developed by two navies, the defense ministry informed in a statement.

This exercise will be carried out between the Indian Navy (in) and Japanese Maritime Defense Forces (JMSDF).
A series of JimEx exercises began in January 2012 with a special focus on maritime security cooperation.
The last edition of Jimex was carried out on September 2020.
