New Delhi: India reported 2,64,202 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 6.7% higher than the previous day and the highest in 239 days, said the Ministry of Health and family welfare on Friday morning.
Also, there was an increase of 4.83% in the case of omicron since Thursday with a total of 5,753 infections have been detected so far, the release of the Ministry of Health Union.
According to release, the death of the virus fell from the previous day with 315 new fatality reported on Thursday, the third day in a row from the death of 300-plus.
With this, the overall death toll reached 4,85,350 while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.33%, according to the Ministry of Health.
In addition, India reported 1.09,345 recovery in the last 24 hours while the total number of people recovered from infection increased to 3,48.24,706.
With this, Indian active Kaseload currently stands at 12,72,073, consisting of 3.48% percent of a total of 3.65.82,129 infection, while the national recovery rate decreases to 95.20%, the ministry said.
The country’s daily peposititiveness of the Covid-19 case is 14.78% now while the weekly rate is 11.83%.
As far as testing tests, a total of 69.90 crore samples have been tested so far, including 17.87.457 in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 155.39 Crore vaccine doses have been given so far under drive national vaccination.
Also, more than 15.17 doses of covid crore balance vaccines are available with US countries / trade unions, said service.
