New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin will arrive in India on Monday for the 21st Indian-Russian annual Summit.
This will be the first meeting between President Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi after their meeting on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Brics in November 2019.
During the Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin will review the country and prospect of bilateral relations Between India and Russia and will discuss ways to further strengthen strategic partnerships between the two countries.
“Russian President Vladamir Putin will make an official visit to New Delhi on December 6 for December 21, Russian annual Summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” The Ministry of Spokesman Arindam Bagchi’s external affairs said that during the weekly press direction.
The Summit will offer the opportunity to exchange views on regional multilateral and international problems from shared interests, Bagchi noted.
“This visit will provide an encouragement for special Indian-Russian strategic partnerships,” Bagchi said.
India and Russia are expected to ink more than 10 bilateral agreements including problems such as connectivity, shipping, space, military-technical cooperation, science and technology, education and culture.
The annual Indian-Russian summit last took place in 2019 during PM Modi’s visit to Vladivostok City in Russia.
The annual Summit cannot occur in 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
India and Russia will also hold the first “two plus two” format dialog here.
According to the Russian Embassy, ​​Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu will hold talks with their Indian colleagues Dr.
Jaishankar and Rajnath Singh.
Ministers are expected to hold in-depth discussions on major main and international topics, including situations in the Asia-Pacific region and developments in Afghanistan and Syria, as well as exchanges of views on interactions in SCO and Russia, India and China (RIC), said the Russian Embassy .
