Among the work handled by this technician is aircraft fuel, preparing aircraft for departure, marshaling, maintenance work etc.
“International flights and domestic Air India will be beaten because we produce around 60% of AIESL labor,” said a technician, asking for anonymity.
Their demands include a revision of salary, work contract renewal, inclusion of dear allowances, etc.
“We want a salary based on the” same job, the same payment.
“Our salary must be equivalent to Indian water service engineers because our job profiles, qualifications etc.
are the same,” he added.
“But our salary is Rs 25,000.
For January, many of us receive Rs 21,444 salaries.
Among the deductions carried out are for medical facilities and RS 1100 that AIESL has been reduced since May 2020 as part of economic steps,” he added.
Statement from Air India is awaited.
In January, the technicians had written to AIESL management with a list of demands, threatening “down agitation tools” from January 17.
As a conciliation process under the assistant commissioner of the Labor Begin between AIESL technicians and management, agitation is postponed.
“But talks have failed,” the technicians said.
