Guwahati: A teenager in Arizona, the US, has attracted global attention to its long working hours as a volunteer during a pandemic.
Born to parents from Assam – they are Indian foreign nationals (OCI) – The 11th Grader, Diya Nath, has been respected with a certificate from US President Joe Biden in recognition of his example.
After completing more than 100 hours of hard voluntary work, including making Covid masks during a pandemic to help the elderly stay in senior centers and cleaning the community park, he has been presented with a prestigious gold presidential service award.
Diya, who works for international rental humanitarian organizations as a volunteer, says he wants to help the community and he feeds starving children, making facial masks, cleaning the community park, holding webinars about their own health and self-care through their own advocacy.
