Vadodara: Students from Dahod Regency dominated by tribes, most of them face difficulties in pursuing education outside the class X, getting a chance that never before to learn the basics of artificial intelligence (AI) thanks to Intel Inc.
The district has been picked up by a project in AI by computer chip maker.
Dahod is among the aspirational districts identified by the central government.
Such districts are the most challenging districts in the country.
Dahod and several other districts in the state have been chosen to develop AI’s skills in the regional students.
The district of Northeast India and other parts of the country have also been included in the project.
Kajal Dave, Dahod District Education Officer, said that five of the top districts in terms of student strength were chosen for the project.
“Students are introduced to the basics of AI.
In the future they can take further studies in the field,” he said.
The schools chosen for this project include high school in Dahod, S school in Devgadh Baria, Pragati Girls High School in Limkheda, Shri I K Desai High School in Fatepura and Gr High School in Singvad.
Dave said that parameters such as gender equality and representation of various district fields were noticed when choosing schools and students.
The Principal of S RS, J J Patel, said that students from class IX to XII were introduced on the basics of AI through online interactions.
“Some students who look promising will be picked up for further training,” he said.
High School Principal, Bharat Jadav, said that they would try to provide the equipment needed for the project.
He said that they were waiting for the names of selected students for further training.
He added that most interactions under the project were online.
