We talked to the Supreme Commissioner of the BBMP Gaurav Gupta to get low-down in a bad hole and road
Back in the first week of September, Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commissioner, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), has announced that the Civic body will repair a hole in every corner and corner of the city.
Gupta said that the rain had left the streets in Bengaluru in poor conditions and the BBMP had decided to establish a unit of zonal head engineers, executive engineers Department, Executive Engineer Assistant and Environmental Engineering in all zones to repair work holes.
A month later, Bangalore Mirror spoke with the BBM head to get low-down on the progress of the hole installation work.
What challenges have been faced by BBMP when repairing holes?

Last week it was filled with a few days of rain and night, which affected the filling of holes.
Asphalt is ready but to work on the road it is difficult as a season and temperature plays a role (impact of civil works).
Work is still in process.
Since Monday, I have visited many divisions to oversee work too.
As far as possible, we try to limit the discomfort caused by citizens.
Many complaints that BBMP has progressed with a speed of snail while repairing the road in Mahadevapura and Kr Puram.
What should you say for it?
BWSSB has taken several projects in this field three years ago.
About 2,500 square kilometers of road cut open for various projects.
These roads must be reconstructed.
We have taken a job.
The new road will be placed in and the reconstruction will be completed in a few days.
New works will begin in Kr Puram.
There are complaints that poor work quality is the cause of a hole.
What should you say about this claim?
We searched for projects that have been taken by Bescom and BWSSB in recent years.
These projects have produced poor roads.
We check the reasons behind work and if necessary to cut the road.
We have told the utility to take work only if necessary.
When can we hope the city is free from a hole?
Holes are not the only problem.
We must consider the roads that have been cut open and the road reconstruction too.
The work is underway and will be finished in a few days.
I have visited various constituencies to oversee work on the road at the environmental level.
Sightseeing in the peripheral area still need reconstruction.
Those at the core of the city only need small repairs and will be seen immediately.
If there are complaints about the road, the public can contact me directly and I will check it out.
