Panaji: Promotional Board and Facilitation of Goa Investment (IPB) met on Thursday and cleared four investment proposals, which could bring RS 230 Crore investment to the country and also created employment for 1,489 people.
Chairman of the Pramod Sawant, who led the meeting, said that the project would benefit Goa.
“There are four to five new investment projects and we have sanctioned four of them.
One of them in Latambacem, one in Kundiaim Industrial Estate and one is in a private area,” Sawant said as he spoke to reporters after the council meeting.
Investment proposal is for lightweight engineering, manufacturing, agro-food processing and automotive service facilities.
According to officials, the council reported on two project proposals received before 1 and eight projects received through a single online window system was only launched by IPB.
“The Board agreed four of the 10 proposals with a total investment of Rs 230 Crore and projected work 1489 with 82% proposed local work,” said Chief Executive Officer IPB Sachan Swetics.
Throughout the year, IPB has only made four council meetings and has approved the project with an investment of Rs 832.1 CR and which can create employment for 3613 individuals.
IPB said that 78% of this work will go to the locals.
IPB is also in the process of preparing new regulations and regulations under the promotion of new Goa investment and facilitating a single window permit law, 2021.
The council, led by Sawant, has approved a new methodology for land allotment, which uses a point-based system to evaluate proposals project.
The investment score was later evaluated against land banks advertised in the state.
The Board has identified land that is not used in various industrial plantations in Goa and has invited project proposals from potential investors.
