Chennai: In suspension of punishment for the suspension of the DGP officer Rajesh Das, who faced allegations of sexual abuse which was said by a female IPS officer, Madras High Court has directed the state government to maintain the status quo from the department process that began with it.
The government has issued a memo of the accusation of Rajesh Das based on the Report of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) from the Police Department.
Justice C Saravanan provides temporary assistance on Friday, in the defense transferred by DGP challenging the ICC process and report on the grounds of violations of natural justice.
When the request came to hear, Advocate General R Shunmugasundam believes that the DGP has transferred the current application to delay the department process against it.
Since he said the State would submit a detailed counter, the court was postponed a four-week hearing.
Previously, representing the applicant, senior advocate AR request report would disappoint the entire process.
He further added that two IPS members from ICC – Seema Agarwal and Arun – biased to him.
Therefore, Rajesh Das has filed a detailed objection and is looking for a committee reconstitution.
But the committee continued with the investigation and a report was forwarded to the state government on April 8, he added.
