Tehran: Negotiations in Vienna aim to revive Iran’s nuclear agreement will be suspended on Friday so that European diplomats can review proposals by the Islamic Republic, state media.
Iran said the day before that it had submitted two draft proposals for nuclear agreements, which had been continued since the US withdrawal of the United States in 2018.
“After submitting Iran’s proposal text to the P4 + 1 group (UK, China, France and Russia plus Germany) and the European Union , a committee meeting with a nuclear agreement will be held on Friday, “Iran Irna’s official news agency said.
“This meeting was requested by the Europeans before his representative returned to their capital to review the text proposed by Iran,” added the news agency.
Two diplomatic sources based in Vienna confirmed the report to AFP, with the meeting because it began in the middle of the day (1100 GMT), the commencement of the beginning early next week, said a European diplomat.
On Thursday, Iran’s main negotiator Ali Bagheri said the proposal was related to the two major problems facing the 2015 Accord known as a common comprehensive action plan, or JCPOA.
“The first document perfects the viewpoint of the Islamic Republic regarding the removal of sanctions, while the second is about Iran’s nuclear actions,” Bagheri said to state television.
“Now other parties must examine these documents and prepare themselves to hold negotiations with Iran based on these documents.” The talks have continued in the Austrian capital on Monday after Iran paused them in June after the election of Ultrakonvative Presidential Ebrahim Relision.
The purpose of JCPOA is to make it practically impossible for Iran to build atomic bombs, while allowing him to pursue civilian nuclear programs.
