Nagpur: The Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a subsidiary of Indian Railways promotes special tourist trains, while in talks with wildlife wings of the Ministry of Forestry State to enter Safari and backend service for wildlife tour packages in Maharashtra.
According to IRCTC sources, the Ministry of Forestry and the train arm tend to sign an agreement to work together by synergizing their strengths and resources for optimal mutual benefit.
“The cooperation area will include the provision of backend services and sharing resources such as accommodation, safari, forestry department portal etc.
and planning, launching, publishing, promoting and selling wildlife packages through the IRCTC tourism portal,” said Source.
Head of Wild Wildlife Maharashtra (CWLW) Sunil Limaye, who might sign an agreement on behalf of the government as a head of wildlife wings, said, “The first round of talks in this direction has been held with IRCTC officials.
However, the MoU has not been signed yet.
” The source said the IRCTC will prepare a tour schedule which includes various wildlife goals provided by the Ministry of Forestry and submitting the draft schedule to the department.
After that, both institutions will complete the backend service requirements, including safari tourist forest to be operated.
There are 11 territorial circles and three circles of wildlife in the state.
Of the six tiger reserves, five – Tadoba-andhari, NaveGaon-Nagzira, Drill, Melghat, and PenH – are in Vidarbha and the district where this backup is well connected with the train route.
Therefore, Safari can work for this purpose.
A similar plan was working for Radhanagri wildlife and the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve in Western Maharashtra.
Officials IRCTC said according to the sample schedule, tourists can be ordered at CSMT-Gondia Vidarbha Express.
The next day, they can go to Nagzira from the Gondia Station and utilize two safari.
Like a road trip to Tadoba from Nagzira it will be more than 185km, there are other plans to take tourists through the CSMT-Nagpur Duronto Express and have safari in Penh and Tadoba.

Road trips will be in the AC vehicle and include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and accommodation in Homestay or Resort.

IRCTC will set a number of suitable escort to take care of passengers to ensure the dormitory and de-boarding on the bus / coach, calculation, provide information about places, services, and whatever is needed from time to time.
It will also arrange basic medical facilities in areas other than those who are not under the control of the Ministry of Forestry.
IRCTC will provide accident insurance for passengers during the tour according to the IRCTC norms.
