Gurgaon: The corporate city of Gurgaon (MCG) has decided to hold the maintenance costs for the park, which is not in good condition due to lack of maintenance work by Rwas or the Environmental Committee.
At the MCG meeting recently, it was decided that the horticulture wing executive engineers would direct Rwa or the environmental committee concerned to maintain the park correctly, failed which would not release maintenance costs.
“I have directed staff to keep watches in the park and conduct surveys.
Parks, which are not in good condition, will no longer receive maintenance.
Because the level of garden maintenance has also been upgraded from Rs 3 to Rs 4 per square meter, we expect maintenance quality for Increase.
Payment of maintenance will be released based on the condition of the park, “said Subhash Yadav, Nodal Environmental MCG official and sustainability wing.
There are 938 parks within the MCG limit; 320 is managed by Rwas and 551 by the Environment Committee.
According to MCG, the park will be categorized as A, B, C and D.
While the category of the park will be considered the best category, B and C will be a park that requires renovation.
Parking Category D will require a total overhaul, officials said, adding that they have identified 18 parks like that, who will undergo renovation.
“We are preparing for estimates for the category D parking renovation so it works on them immediately starting,” said an MCG official.
Rwas, meanwhile, said that it was a good idea, but they were worried that MCG would support the neighborhood committee on Rwas.
“If there are institutions, whether the RWA or environment committee, do not do their work, they are wasting taxpayers.
This is a good decision, but the problem is that MCG officials deal with direct environmental council members.
The board members provide a certificate satisfying to the MCG for the development of work in their ward.
However, Rwas does not have such strength, so the opportunity for officials who support the ward committee are higher, “said Suraj Lalit Bihola, Secretary General, Sector 9a Rwa.ravinder Yadav, Board Member, Number 3 , said that Rwas maintained most parks in his wand in his people.
, but if the board members and Rwas maintain the park together, both will be fair and accountable.
“Rwas and the Environment Committee, which has destroyed our park, should not be given a job by MCG.
But there are several RWA in my environment who donate funds to maintain the park.
So, those who want to do their work will do it even with the absence of funds; Else won’t even pay for it, “said Yadav.
