Ahmedabad: India’s new ODI captain Rohit Sharma on Saturday said that Ishan Kishan would open with him in the first ODI against West Indies because the young man was the only choice available for the team, with the delay in the Mandai Mandai Participant for the Mandatory quarantine period.
Kiswan was recruited to the ODI squad after Shikhar Dhawan and Ruturaj Gaikwad were tested positive for Covid-19 and now in isolation.
“Ishan Kishan is the only choice we have and he will open with me,” Rohit said on the series opening.
“Mayak added to the squad and he is still isolation.
He comes (join) late and we have some rules in his place.
If someone travels, we must put it in quarantine (compulsory 3 days).
He is still silent not finishing his strength, so Ishan will open Inning.
“Unless there is an injury because we have training today and nothing like that,” he added.
