Italian regulator ratifies moderna covid-19 vaccine for teenagers

MILAN: Italian regulator approved the use of modern Covid-19 vaccines for children aged 12-17 years, making him a second shot supported for teenagers, along with Pfizer.
The Italian Medicine Agency, AIFA, said that he had supported the SpikeVax vaccine for adolescents, fully accepted the recommendations made by the European Medicine Agency (EMA) on July 23.
“Data available indicate the efficacy and security of vaccines also for the subject in this case the age group,” said AIFA in a statement.
Some European countries say children’s vaccination is important to achieve herd immunity as a very contagious Delta variant continues to spread.
Moderna in May said the vaccine was found safe and effective in adolescents.
