Milan: Italian Civil Aviation Authority on Tuesday warns Ryanair, he can provide budget operators if charged an additional fee for chairs assigned to underage people who accompany and people with disabilities.
With the summer holiday season at its peak in Italy, Enac has urged all airlines operating in Italy to cancel additional fees for certain passengers.
On Tuesday, the authority said that the preliminary examination showed Ryanair had not adapted it and the operating system to ensure that supplements were not charged when ordering a seat under underage passengers or disabled people.
“(Ryanair’s) behavior is only based on operator profits and does not protect passenger rights or comply with safety regulations,” said President Enac Pierluigi in Palma.
The authority added it was ready to impose a sentence of 35,000 euros in Ryanair and also consider filing legal complaints against Irish operators, he said.
A spokesman Ryanair refused to comment on this problem.
Italy is Ryanair’s biggest market in terms of income in the fiscal year which ended on March 31.
