MILAN: Italy reported 19 deaths related to Coronavirus on Thursday against 15 days earlier, the Ministry of Health said, while the new infection daily calculation rose to 6,171 from 5,696.
Italy has registered 128,029 deaths related to Covid-19 since the plague emerged in February last year, the second highest victim in Europe after the UK and the eighth highest in the world.
This country has reported 4.34 million cases to date.
Patients at the hospital with Covid-19 – not included in intensive care – stood at 1,730 on Thursday, up from 1,685 the day before.
There are 20 new admissions for intensive care units, up from nine on Wednesday.
The total number of intensive care patients increased to 194 from 183 before.
Some 224,790 tests for Covid-19 were carried out on the last day, compared to 248,472 before, the Ministry of Health said.
