Milan: Italy reported 31 deaths related to Coronavirus on Wednesday, the same number as the previous day, the Ministry of Health said, while the new infection daily calculation rose to 6,968 from 5,636.
Italy has registered 128,304 deaths related to Covid-19 since the plague emerged in February last year, the second highest victim in Europe after the UK and the highest in the world.
This country has reported 4.4 million cases to date.
Patients at the hospital with Covid-19 (not included in intensive care) reached 2,948 on Wednesday, up from 2,880 the day before.
There are 40 new admissions for intensive care units, up from 26 on Tuesday.
The total number of intensive care patients rose to 337 of the previous 322.
Around 230,039 tests for Covid-19 were carried out on the last day, compared to 241,766 before, the Ministry of Health said.
