Rajkot: Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA) has combined all universities and branches of the Ayurved Gujarat University from Jamnagar officially below on Thursday.
This will be an autonomous body now.
This is the first Ayurved Institute in the country formed by last year’s parliamentary law and received the status of the Institute of National Portsection (NIA) such as IIT and IIM and will work in the Ayurveda research field.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated this institute to the nation in November last year on the National Ayurveda Day.
Cluster Institutes Like Institute of Postgraduate Teaching and Research at Ayurveda, Shri Gullabkunwerba Ayurved Mahavidyalaya and the Ayurveda Institute of Pharmacy and Maharshi Patanjali Institute for Yoga and Naturopathy Education and research were announced into ITRA in front of Deputy Minister of the Head Nitin Patel Thursday.
ITRA has 12 departments and three clinical and three research laboratories.
The Institute has 33 research projects in traditional medicine.
Because it has become an autonomous body, it will help ITRA improve education standards in Ayurveda and will be able to offer national and international standard courses.
The first Director of Itra Anup Thakkar said, “We will be able to create a world-class laboratory and get good funds for research and education work.
We can do various experiments with more liberty because now the Institute is an autonomous body.” The Institute will now be able to frame equal courses.
with international standards and demand as well as self-certification courses.
This will be able to adopt its own sophisticated evaluation method too.
This institution will be able to do more authentic research in the Ayurveda treatment on the same scale as the prestigious Institute conducting research in allopathy drugs.
