Jaipur: Fifteen IPS and nearly 80 representatives of the SP (DSP) ranking will be posted in the city to oversee security settings for Mega Congress rally on Sundays.
The additional commissioner of the police, law and orders, Haider Ali Zaidi told TII that more than 5,000 police would be deployed in the city to manage traffic and security settings on Sunday.
Two Senior Deputy IGS (DIGS) Rahul Prakash and Gaurav Shrivastava have also been hanging out for the assignment.
The official source said that Prakash will achieve route layers, traffic management and parking, while Shrivastava will be responsible for the control room operation.
“The two officials were posted in the city in the past, their experience would be useful,” said an official.
In addition to two, additional commissioners, crimes, Ajay Pal Lamba, will oversee security settings at the Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium.
Lakh supporters are expected to gather in the venue including several top party leaders.
Zaidi said that city police have made adequate security settings for rallies.
On Saturday, police officials attached to the task held a series of meetings in the venue and then the question and answer inspector about important tasks.
Several police teams visit the closest tall buildings as a measure to increase security settings.
City police for the past few days have increased night search, patrolling and checking in major areas in run-up to Mega rally expected to be attended by lakh supporters and party workers.
The police said that together with VIP security settings, traffic and parking would also be a top priority.
“We have directed all our officials posted to serve in seamless communication with seniors and their subordinates.
If there is an unexpected traffic jam, it will be quickly resolved,” the official said.
The police team has arranged barricades and pickets throughout the city to facilitate vehicle traffic movements throughout Jaipur’s important arterial road.
