Jaipur: Someone, who arrived from England, 7 days ago, was tested positive for Covid-19 in the city on Sunday.
Sharing him infected with the Omicron variant of Covid-19, the Ministry of Health has sent him to the Ruhs Coronavirus Hospital.
He is a resident of Keshavpura.
A senior health department official said, “The sample will be sent to the sequencing of the genome to identify the Covid-19 variant that has infected him.” So far, the country has reported 17 cases of omicron covid-19 variants.
The English-Returnee was between 9 people who were positively tested for Covid-19 in the city in the last 24 hours.
The country reported 17 new Covid-19 cases which brought the total calculation to 9,55,238.
No one died of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
Toll stand at 8,960.
The Ministry of Health now conducts a search for people who arrive from England and are tested positive for Covid-19.
However, it has not been ascertained that he was infected with Covid-19 (Omicron).
Of the 17 reported cases, nine reported from Jaipur, four of the ajmer while the two cases were reported from Jhunjhunu and Jodhpur.
