Chatra: A total of 52 people from Durga Puja Samiti based in Itkhori were booked to hold dance performances on October 15 (Dashami) who violated the Covid-19 protocol issued by the state government.
Junior engineers Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Mangal Singh, who were on the task judge, filed firmly against Samiti members on Tuesday night at the ITKhori police station.
Officers responsible for the ITKHori police station, Niranjan Kumar Mishra said that there was no arrest made so far but they will immediately take action.
The dance program displays performance by six bar bars which allegedly attract a big step from neighboring villages, which, in turn, causes crowding in the venue.
“There is no physical pause not kept or people wear masks,” Singh said.
Video programs running viral attract the attention of media and officials later.
The police said that FIR was submitted against 17 named and 35 members of the Pibij Puja Committee which was not named under various IPC parts and epidemic disease actions.
Meanwhile, the dance show was considered ‘obscene’ by several young people, who were allegedly drunk, in the venue which caused clashes among the villagers, leaving several injured people.
An old village resident said that the Puja Committee had announced that a religious storyteller came and he and many more his age went there.
“But we were surprised to see vulgar dances with young men threw money on them,” he added.
