Ranchi: The tension gripped Jharkhand Hazaribag Regency after a boy was killed during a clash between members of two communities, a senior police officer said on Monday.
Rupesh Kumar Pandey, 17, died after allegedly facing an attack on Sunday night in Kariyadpur Village in the Barhi Police Station area in the district, the Hazaribag supervisor said Chothe said.
Four people have been arrested for their involvement in clashes, he said.
However, Chothe, insisted that the clash was the fall of the “old competition” and there was no communal interest involved in it.
“One person was beaten and the others were killed during the fight.
Incidentally, both belonged to two different communities.
The police pay attention to this problem,” SP PTI said.
Given the communal sensitive nature of this district, internet services have been directors in the area and some sites side by side for now to prevent rumors, Chothe said.
He also guarantees that the situation in Kariyadpur village is under control.
Some people tried to connect the incident with an idol soaking ceremony on Sunday Dewi Saraswati, the procession taken was only 30 minutes before the clash broke, but both were not connected, SP was maintained.
No complaints raised by the deceased family so far, said Chuthe, adding that adequate strength has been deployed in the area to allow inspection of unwanted activities, if any.
