Kalyan: Cannot fill a hole during Diwali due to heavy rain this year, Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has now decided to fill the holes on all the main roads in front of the festival.
The decision was taken on Wednesday at a review meeting called KDMC Commissioner Dr.
Vijay Surywanshi with the city engineer Sapna Koli-Devanpalli and the executive engineer related and directed to repair all the main roads before Diwali.
During the meeting, it was found that KDMC which last week launched a toll-free number 18002330045 for complaints related to holes, so far, only received 296 complaints related to the hole.
KDMC officials claim that most complaints are related to roads under the jurisdiction of Maharashtra Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), the Department of Public Works (PWD) and some of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).
Officials informed that this complaint had been forwarded to the relevant department to fill the hole.
Of the 296 complaints, several complaints were reported for the same road and this, 48 complaints were under KDMC.
All 48 complaints have been completed.
After the rain stopped, KDMC had begun to fill the hole in the city of Twin but at speed, it looks difficult to fill all the previous holes.

Suryawanshi has also directed city engineers to summon meetings of all contractors and increase their number of workers to fill the road as soon as possible.
This year like other cities in the Metropolitan area of Mumbai, Kalyan-Dombivli residents also have to face many problems because of the hole throughout the road in the city.
