Kandhamal reported Zero Covid Case for 27 days

Religious: When health experts worry about a surge in Covid-19 cases in the state, Kandhamal Regency dominated by tribes has brought a little assistance by reporting no infection for the last 27 days.
“Kandhamal is the only district in the state that is free of Covid-19.
The last positive casing was reported from the district on December 3 since it was not a new case that had been reported.
Likewise, there were no active cases in this district,” said K Patnaik, the Head of the District Medical Officer in Responsible.
“This is released from the district that conducts an average test of 700 every day, which includes 200 RT-PCR and 500 fast antigen tests,” he said.
“All of these tests are now done at the District Head Office Hospital, Phulbani.
We plan to double the test because we have facilities,” he added.
“Strict enforcement of Covid-19 guidelines, vaccinations, and strict supervision steps to outsiders who entered the district are some reasons for the district free of Covid-19 for almost a month,” said a senior district official.
A total of 8,36,474 people from the 18-plus age group were vaccinated in the district so far, according to official sources.
From them 5.24,618 have received their first dose and 3.11,856 have taken the second shot, said the source.
Apart from Covid’s free situation, the district government has strictly enforced restrictions imposed by the government for the new year.
“Bulk meetings and congregations of people in public and religious places have been locked up for the new year in accordance with the direction of the government,” said Kandhamal Bründha D collector.
Similarly, the district government has also instructed Pancrayat and other field staff, including Angganwadi.
And Asha workers, to maintain citizenship on the arrival of outsiders.
