Home care for girls in Madikeri reported a cluster outbreak, with 35 of the 45 students testing positive Covid-19.
Most asymptomatics and those who have been infected have been isolated on the same facilities and treated.
The outbreak was detected when two girls, who were 18 years old, had to be moved to the country’s house for women.
As part of the process, their throat swab sample was taken, and the test confirmed them positive for the Coronavirus novel which caused Covid-19.
As a security measure, 43 others are tested.
Apart from both of them submitting majors, 34 infected.
Venkatesh, Kodagu District Health Officer, said all infected students were treated by doctors from Madikeri City.
He said the food and other needs were being supplied.
Arundhathi, district officers and children, said it was not clear that contracted the infection first and how.
He said several students had attended classes in college and some of the others also attended cases in court.
Meanwhile, Venkatesh urged people who qualified to be vaccinated against Covid.
He said 20,000 doses had been arranged for mega vaccine drives Friday and 122 centers will operate.
