Dharmasthala: Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala has been decorated to mark the 54th Vardehanthi D Veerendra Heggade anointed as Dharmadhikari from Kshetra here on Sunday.
Even though it is an important opportunity, celebrations will be held in a simple way because of the applicable situation.
The day will begin with a special pooja at Bhagwan Sri Chandranatha Swamy Basadi.
Then at night, during the Public Criminal Program at 5pm, Retired Deputy Commissioner C Somashekar will provide a villain address, after which Higgade will announce the Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala project for the coming year.
On this occasion, Higgade will respect Senior Shubhachandra King employees and head of the local Horticulture Department of Balakrishna Poojari.
Higgade, at the age of 20, took responsibility to become Dharmadhikari and turned into reality, the vision was maintained by his father, Ratnavarma Heggade – a more modern Dharmasthala dream.
The traditional role of a Dharmadhikari involves Chaturdana, or four charities: Annadana, Abhayadana, Aushadhadana and Vidyadana.
Since the beginning Heggade does not only fulfill these tasks but modernize these funds to fit the time and needs that change.
Heggade was awarded the second highest civilian award, Padma Vibhushan, in 2015 because of its violator’s contribution to the social, economic and cultural development of the community and has changed the small town into a modern educational hub, redefining the role of a temple from being a place of worship to the service place, revive Ancient science to further improve the modern lifestyle.
Higgade in the past five decades moved several social economic programs that have provided new leases for those with social imbalances such as illiteracy, religious intolerance, poverty, unemployment, social stigma or lack of medical assistance.
His traditional task as Dharmadhikari has also been filled with the same level of ambition and commitment.
