Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Police arrested nine people in two separate drug eyes on Monday.
Mangaluru City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar told the media on Tuesday, that in the first incident, two were accused of being arrested and confiscated 3.2kg marijuana and two cellphones from their ownership.
The defendant who was arrested was identified as Abdul Rahiman (32), a resident of Thota Bengre and Mohammed Sadik (33), a resident of the Bunder.
Police said one Munna Sahu from Odisha who sold marijuana to Abdul in Bengaluru had not been arrested.
In another incident, the police arrested seven people, including MBBS students in the last year.
The police won 2kg of marijuana, nine MDMA and 2G brown sugar pills and cellphones, two motorbikes and SUVs from the defendant’s ownership.
The defendant who was arrested was Mohammed Thamem, 20, from Attavar; Mohmad Rayees, 20, from Jeppu; Abdul Arman, 20, from Jeppu; Prajwal Phinehas, 24, a medical student in the last year and a population of Bidar; Mohammed Ameen Rafih, 19, from Bejai; Mohammed Afham, 19, from Bunder and Roshan Yousuf, 18, a resident of Falnir.
Shashi Kumar said that four accusers were detained in the Prajwal apartment in Attavar.
One of the accused, Ameen has sold 1kg of marijuana to the prajwal through the Thameem in a cottage.
During the interrogation, he told the police that he supplied marijuana to graduate students and other medical students in the city.
