Chikkaballapur: The villages at Mandikal Gram Panchat from Chikkaballapur Taluk have experienced a mild earthquake for the second day on Thursday.
The 3.6 tremor on the Richter scale was experienced by many villages, including Sadhenahalli, Peresandra and Gollahalli.
The affected area is located along the Bengaluru-Hyderabad National Highway.
Earthquakes occurred at 2:16 a.m.
with an epicenter of 1.2 km southeast of Sadenahalli and 18 km, the monitoring center of Karnataka Natural Disaster (KSNDMC) said.
The KSNDMC described the earthquake as one of the medium intensity, unlike two low intensity shots that had shook the taluk the day before.
On Wednesday, an earthquake measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale had rocked the villages of Mandikal Gram Panchayat at 7:10 a.m.
Four minutes later, the second, measuring 3 on the scale, the village jerked from Addagallu Gram Panchayat.
Ganapati Sastry, Tahsildar, Chikkaballapur, said even though there was no major damage reported, several houses developed cracks on their walls.
The third earthquake in two days was experienced by the villages within a 10 km radius.
The tremor was felt in Sadhenahalli, Peresandra and Beeraganahalli also several villages affected on Wednesday, he said.
