Mysuru: Dusk 12 hours for the dawn proposed Prohibition of the movement of vehicles between Sathyamangalam and Dhimbam at the National Highway-948 who passed Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu, it would likely affect the industry and trade in Karnataka, as well as professionals and students.
Chamarajanagar Chamber of Commerce and Industry President V Prabhakar told Toi that Madras High Court had issued orders while hearing the petition with respect to the closure of the highway, to protect wildlife.
This means that vehicles that move between the two states on the highway tend to be stopped at their respective borders, which will cause discomfort for travelers.
Restrictions were first applied in 2019, and then withdrawn, after objections.
The problem was taken again, and an order had passed.
There is confusion whether the order will be implemented from February 10 or February 23, as authorities in the Erode district calling for objections.
The National Highway-948 connects Bengaluru and Coimbatore, and passes Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve.
If the order goes into force, the vehicle tends to be stopped on the border of Punajanur in Karnataka.
A heavy vehicle will be banned from 6pm, while smaller vehicle restrictions come from 9pm.
The petition prayed for a direction to the Cum-Regional Transport Authority of the district collector eroded to impose a complete ban on the plying vehicle from 9pm to 6 in the morning and prohibit heavy commercial vehicles between 6pm to 6 am to a stretch of NH 948.
