Mysuru: The Chairman of the Bukavaraj Minister Bommai on Sunday said that the control of multinational companies at the price of products has placed farmers in the financial crisis.
Speaking after inaugurating the State Conference held to mark the world farmer’s day organized by the Union of the State Farmers and the sugar cane Growers Association, Bommai said that controlling the price of multinational food crops had become a problem.
“By signing the WTO (agreement), we have placed our fate in the hands of international companies.
After signing an agreement for the open market, we have lost the right to control the price of products planted by farmers.
So, the private market was introduced before the introduction of APMC.
We have to think about Negative aspects before signing any agreement, “he said.
Showing a problem in the rural credit policy system, Bommai said that farmers who had submitted loans had never received the maximum amount they had asked.
He added that political parties must realize that farmers are the backbone of all political parties in democracy.
“All political parties belong to farmers.
Which party is in power, if you realize this truth, there will be welfare for farmers.
But ironically, the parties failed to realize the truth even after 75 years of independence,” he said.
The Chairman of the Bommai Minister said the scheme of Vidya Nidhi would be extended to high school girls from the rural background.
“Until the 2.40 lakh children of children have benefited and in March, 5 Lakh girls will be in the scheme.
This scheme aims to improve the quality of life of a daughter,” he said.
Bommai assured that the destruction of sugar cane will begin from the following season at the MySugar factory at Mandya and said that he had directed officials to submit a report on the price of FRP for sugar cane.
Then, Suttur Mutt Seer Shivaratri Deshikendra Swami said the government must ensure scientific prices for arrows and compensation for loss of plants.
“Farmers should not commit suicide but face challenges and difficulties.
Farmers must adopt organic farming to avoid chemicals that are harmful to the health of consumers.
The President of the Shantakumar Kuruburu Association was reproduced for his ministry to the title Raitha Ratna.
