MySuru: With only two weeks to go for the Grand Dasara Mysuru procession, St Somashekar District Minister said he would ask the Chairman of the Minister of Bukavaraj Bommai to increase seating capacity to provide opportunities for more people to witness traditional events.
Last year, only 200 people were allowed to watch elephant procession and cultural groups.
This year the Vijayadashmi procession was locked up at the palace because of the Covid situation.
According to the advice of the technical advisory committee, only 500 people were allowed to witness the colorful event this year.
The Dasara procession is scheduled to be held at the Palace on October 15.
This festival will be inaugurated on the Chamundi Hill on October 7.
“There is a request from tourist stakeholders to increase seating capacity to be at least 3,000, considering that the level of peposititivity is low..
CM Basilvaraj Bommai will receive a telephone,” Somshekar told reporters in Mysuru.
Veteran politician BC Krishna, who has been chosen to open the Dasara Festival, will be invited on Saturday.
The Chairman of the Minister of Bumavaraj Bommai himself will extend the invitation to Krishna.
The government has released Hospital 6 Crore for the Festivity.
The authorities must part with funds for the Dasara celebration at Mandya and Chamarajanagar as well.
The decision taken by the High Power Committee of the Dasara is final with respect to the celebration.
The government has decided to celebrate a simple and traditional Dasara.
Except for the inauguration, procession and cultural / musical events at the Palace of Mysuru, the rest of the program has been canceled due to a pandemic.
Although the Covid case has fallen and restrictions have declined, there is no complete relaxation.
Dasara Webpage launched the Minister of District in-Charge St Somashekar launched a web page for Celebration Mysuru Dasara – www.mysoredasara.gov.in on Palace Mysuru Board on Friday.
It contains event details, including inauguration, procession and cultural events.
The web page also consists of information about the guest heads of SM Krishna, elephants, photos, and recordings of previous Dasara celebrations.
