Shivamogga: The families of nine members say they have repented to Hinduism in the presence of VHP leaders in the village of Intergange Bhadravati Taluk.
Jayaselan, 55, a tailor, said they came from Tamil Nadu and settled in Bhadravathi about seven decades ago.
His father Elumalai is a wage worker every day at the mine that supplies ore to visit iron and steel ltd (VISL).
He said his father entered Christianity four decades ago.
“But we decided to embrace Hindu,” he said on Sunday.
“When I was born before he repented, I remained a Hindu and followed Hinduism.
In the record too, I have defended my religion as Hinduism.
But my father changed my son’s second religion in the record as a Christian.
But after the death of my father’s 10 years.
Then, we stopped following Christianity.
Because we did not have the right platform to rejoin Hinduism, I contacted my VHP friends in Bhadravati, “he said.
The VHP leader from Bhadravati, H Ramappa, Jayaselan said and his family voluntarily converted into Hinduism.
“We only help them in that, and hope more to enter Hinduism in the coming days,” he said.
