Bagalkot: Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) and Computer Operator Hulageri Gram Panchayat, who allegedly told a farmer to bring them a RAM raised before they issued a record of computerized rights, rented his house, was arrested on Thursday.
BS Nemagouda, Police Supervisors, ACB (Range of North), Bataghaavi, said PDO Shoukat Ali MUSNN and computer operators Bharamanna Mayappa Metgud first demanded bribery of Rs 12,000 a few months ago to issue computerized documents to Yellappa Hireholli from Malagi Village.
When Hireholli told them that he was poor and had to take care of his wife and two children and could not pay them Rs 8,000, they demanded that he gave them the RAM he had lived.
Because it was worth RS 16,000, Hireholli rejected points empty.
Finally, the two men lowered the number of bribes to Rs 6,000.
That’s when Hireholli filed a complaint with Bagalkot police and ACB Sleuth stormed Hulageri GP and detained both men.
Hireholli, 36, told Ti, he had gone to the Pancrayat office for a year to get a computerized computer record approved under the Basava Vasati Yojana six years ago.
“In mid-August, I sold five of my sheeps to meet the cost of my family.
