Mysuru: Domestic workers throughout the country, who are entitled to RS 2,000 Covid Relief are announced by the Government, striving to provide evidence of work that must get help.
At the urge of the High Court, the government has stepped up to simplify the process, and allow employers to declare help.
However, employers are needed to provide evidence of their identity and most are reluctant to part with their aadhaar or pan numbers.
It is estimated that 10 lakh domestic workers qualified for one-time assistance Rs 2,000 from the state government.
Many lost their jobs during locking in May-July and only now targeted back to normal.
Labor Minister Shivaram Hebbar defended the move, quoting HC intervention.
Initially, the state government had asked domestic workers to get proof of work certified by officers who were exchanged.

Chief Judge Abhay Sreeniwas Oka, who led the case, called the workforce secretary and directed the government to simplify the process.
Thus, the Labor Department issued an amended government order that allowed domestic workers to get work evidence of one of their employers.
“First, we were asked to apply for RS 2,000 with the number of house doors where we worked, along with the name of the homeowner.
Now, we are asked to get the signature of the homeowner with their aadhaar numbers.
The majority of homeowners declined to sign and share documents,” said Bhagya s Pura, Domestic Help from Mysuru.
Sandhya PS, Msuru District Committee member of the All India Union Union Center, said the house helped to struggle to convince the employer.
State Labor Commissioner Akram Pasha said employers do not have to be alert to share identity details.
“We use the ID number provided by homeowners only to verify if the homeowner decreases to share the details of ID quoting privacy issues, domestic assistance can always take the help of officers who are confirmed or the construction of the Panchayat development for certification,” he said.
